April is Autism Awareness Month

All April long people, organizations, and businesses are turning ‘blue’ in efforts to raise awareness for Autism. Autism and autism spectrum disorder (ASD) are both general terms for a group of complex disorders of brain development with signs of the disorder emerging between 12 and 18 months of age. ASD is estimated to affect more than 2 million individuals in the U.S. and tens of millions worldwide.

On April 2, supporters of Autism Speaks celebrate Light It Up Blue in recognition of World Autism Day. This year, the Sheraton Gunter will place blue lights along the outside and inside of the hotel to show our support.
