Texas is a unique state. No one can deny that fact. In fact, it’s so unique, we are the only state in the U.S. that was actually a country prior to its annexation. Pretty darn cool.

Because of  Texas’ larger-than-life history, San Antonio has to reserve three days of festival fun to fit it all in! Everything is bigger in Texas, even our parties.

Friday, June 7 will kick off the 42nd annual Texas Folklife Festival at the Institute of Texan Culture. The festival, with over 40 represented ethnic groups, is Texas’ biggest cultural celebration. For three days, eat, drink, and learn about all the unique customs and traditions that help make Texas special.

For information about admission and parking, visit the Institute of Texas Culture website.

The Institute of Texan Culture is located in Hemisfair Park, a short walk from the Gunter Hotel. Ask our concierges for directions or more information.
