Bat Loco Every Tuesday Night

Let’s play a little Jeopardy, shall we? Answer: Black, small and flies at night and are part of an exciting new tour in downtown San Antonio. Does anybody know the question?

That’s right! What are bats?

Every Tuesday night starting July 9th until August 13th the Paseo del Rio Association is giving people the opportunity to spend a few hours watching these magnificent creatures in their natural state, swooping and diving for their evening meal. Along with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, Bat Conservation International and the San Antonio River Authority, experience an exciting and educational night on the new Bat Loco guided bat tours!

Learn about bats and watch as they emerge from under the I-35 bridge during dusk for their nightly insect hunt.

The organizations are hoping to increase public awareness of these creatures in an attempt to help preserve their ecosystem. Plus, the event is 100 percent FREE!

Don’t forget to bring your lawn chairs.
