Although the official Christmas season does not begin until the clock strikes 12:01 a.m. November 29, the radio stations and retail stores are already playing holiday tunes and selling Christmas decorations. Who are we to disagree?
The City of San Antonio will formally ring in the holiday with the highly anticipated Ford Holiday River Parade and Lighting Ceremony this Friday, November 29. The weather is less than frightful most winter seasons here in San Antonio so there’s no doubt this year will have prime watching weather. In fact, Friday night’s forecast reads a high 65 degrees and a low of 45 degrees. Not too hot. Not too cold. In the words of one of the most quoted lines of Miss Congeniality (a movie shot right here in our home town), “all you need is a light jacket!”.
Staying at the hotel? The River Walk is located just steps away from our front door! Walk across the street and stake out your perfect spot to watch the beautiful parade of floats glide down the river.
