Murphy’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival

San Antonio goes ‘green’ this Saturday and Sunday for the Murphy’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival. Free to the public, this family-friendly event features live music, food, and floats along the San Antonio River.

The floats will release 110 pounds of green dye into the River putting it in the spirit of the Irish holiday. For a few hours, the River adopts the name of “The River Shannon” in honor of the Emerald Isle.  Continue reading

San Antonio has never been known to have an extremely large Irish-American population, however, this St. Patrick’s Day that will briefly change! Every year the Paseo del Rio Association and the Harp and Shamrock Society of Texas bring a taste of the Emerald Isle to Downtown San Antonio by transforming the San Antonio River into the River Shannon and temporarily turning everyone Irish.  Continue reading
